04/10/2009 - Phoenix, AZ (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Los Angeles Dodgers placed pitcher Hiroki Kuroda on the 15-day disabled list Friday due to a strained left oblique muscle.

Kuroda pitched on Opening Day for the Dodgers, earning the win after allowing a run on four hits in 5 2/3 innings against the Padres.

The second-year pro, who went 9-10 with a 3.73 earned-run average last year with LA, was scheduled to start Saturday's game against Arizona, but felt a strain in a muscle near his left ribs.

An MRI on Thursday revealed no structural damage and the 34-year-old could start throwing again in four or five days.

The Dodgers cautiously put the right-hander on the DL, retroactive to April 7, and called up Eric Stults from Triple-A Albuquerque to replace him in the rotation.
